Detect coronavirus in 5 seconds – IIT professor develops software to detect covid-19 presence using x-ray scan.

new Delhi: Times of India has reported an exciting as well as hopeful news to lessen the anxiety of medical professionals in identifying COVID-19 presence.

An IIT-Roorkee professor claims to have developed a software that can detect COVID-19 within five seconds using an X-ray scan of the suspected patient. The professor has said to file patent rights for the same invention and has approached the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

It is said to have taken 40 days for him to develop the software.

The professor is identified as Kamal Jain at the institute’s civil engineering department.

He claims that the software will not only reduce testing costs but will also reduce the risk of exposure to healthcare professionals.
So far, there is no verification of his claim by a medical institution.
