Three Jaish-e-Muhammad militants, including an IED expert, was killed in an operation by the security forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama on Wednesday.
An Army spokesman said contact with the hiding militants was established in the morning and announcements were made for them to surrender. “However, terrorists opened fire on the security forces. A firefight ensued. Three terrorists of the JeM, including one IED expert, were killed,” said the Army spokesman.
A soldier, who sustained injuries in the operation, has been evacuated to the Army hospital in Srinagar.
Meanwhile, the Internet has been suspended in Pulwama as a precautionary measure.
