Indian expats in Gulf safe: No plans for emergency flights

Indian expats in Gulf and No plans for emergency flights. According to the Indian ministry, there are 1,400 cases of COVID-19 infections among Indian expats in the region.

 

UAE:  The Indian government has advised expats in the UAE and the Gulf not to travel to their home until flight bans are lifted. There has been requests from many parts of the Gulf to arrange for a special flight for expats stuck in the Middle East.

There are 1,400 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection among expats and still, the Indian External Affairs Ministry (Foreign Ministry) stated that the Indian citizens are safe in the countries they reside in. The Prime Minister had words with the leaders of the Gulf countries and they assured the PM with the welfare of the Indian citizens.

The infected Indians are being treated and kept in isolation in the UAE and Gulf. “Our missions have established contact with all the community leaders and the situation is under control,” he said.
